Shopify Merchant Guide

What Terminus does

Terminus documents merchandise damage with timestamped, integrity-checked photo evidence tied to your orders — so carrier and insurer disputes are settled with proof instead of arguments.

Installation

Install Terminus from the Shopify App Store. On first open your organization is created automatically and your recent orders begin syncing — no setup required. The first user from your shop becomes a manager so you can create share links immediately.

Order sync

New and updated Shopify orders appear in Terminus automatically via webhooks; a backfill imports recent history on install. Orders synced from Shopify are read-only on the Terminus side (status changes for inspection flow excepted) and always keep syncing, whatever your plan usage.

Capturing evidence

Open an order and choose New Evidence: pick the exception type (damaged, missing, wrong item, other), add notes, and attach photos from your device. Each photo gets an integrity analysis (capture source, metadata consistency, duplicates) shown on the evidence page.

Share links for disputes

From an order or evidence page, create a share link and send it to your carrier or insurer — they see a read-only evidence report, no login needed. Links expire on the date you set and can be revoked anytime from Share Links.

Plans & limits

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial — pick a plan on Shopify's plan selection page (the Plan link in the app takes you there) and use the app in full before you're charged.

  • Basic — $9.99/month: up to 500 orders per month.
  • Pro — $29.99/month: unlimited orders, plus encrypted photo storage at rest.

On Basic, a banner warns you at 80% of the monthly limit. At the limit, orders keep syncing from Shopify — nothing is ever dropped — but manual and API order creation pauses until the next calendar month or an upgrade. Manage your plan from the banner or the Plan link in the app — plan changes happen on Shopify's plan selection page.

Settings

Settings inside the app control retention windows: how long expired share links are kept, how long unattached uploads survive, and the grace period before GDPR data deletion.

Uninstalling & your data

Uninstalling the app stops all syncing and billing. Per GDPR and Shopify requirements, your organization's data (orders, evidence, photos, logs) is scheduled for permanent deletion after the retention grace period (30 days by default). See the Privacy Policy for details.
